Dr. Amy Nesius

Dr. Amy Nesius is a Destin native who grew up bringing her pets into The Village Vet and would eventually have a full circle moment and take over co-ownership of the clinic in May of 2023. Her passion for veterinary medicine started when she would help take care of different types of animals on her family farm. She had a special interest in horses and began riding at the age of 5. She eventually started showing Tennessee Walking horses and  went on to win four World Grand Championships. That passion and determination would lead Dr. Nesius to obtain her Doctorate in  Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 2018. After graduation she moved back home to start her career in companion animal medicine. Over the last seven years she has gained a lot of experience. She enjoys internal medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, and client education. She really loves to take the time to get to know her patients, their owners, and help answer their questions. When she is not in the clinic, you can find her with her two children, Christopher and Everly, enjoying time on the water or at their family farm.
